Are You Interested? ...

Theatre Group
We have had some interest shown in starting a theatre group, and I have an experienced performer and teacher lined up who is willing to lead a group. Let me know if you are interested. For more information email Barbara or call her at 665-1224.
Low-Carb Collective Kitchen:

We are starting a Low-Carb Collective Kitchen group - are you trying to eat a low-carb diet? Is someone in the family diabetic? Join a small group of people to share recipes, ideas and cook together in bulk around this theme. We are also open to having more Collective Kitchen Groups start, just let us know.

A Collective Kitchen involves a small group of people getting together regularly (once a month or however often they decide) to cook in bulk for themselves and their families. They pool resources, and plan and prepare delicious low cost nutritious meals. Members stretch family food funds while having fun and making new friends. If you would like to be part of a Collective Kitchen group, or have a group of friends you would like to start a group with, please contact us, 665-1224 and ask for Barbara.

Walking Group:

The weather is turning cold and it's easy to turn into a couch potato. If you are interested in being part of a walking group with other members of the community, please contact us and we will take a poll to find the best day/time/place(s). It could be outside or inside, evening or weekend, a brisk walk or a leisurely stroll followed by brunch. What works best for you?

For more information email Barbara or call her at 665-1224.

Good Food Box:

The Avenue Community Centre acts as a co-ordinator for CHEP's Good Food Box (GFB) Program. Boxes are ordered (and paid for) on a Monday and picked up from The Centre 9 days later on a Wednesday afternoon.

There are 5 choices of GFB:

Snack Pack - $10,

Mini Fruit & Veggie - $8,

Small Fruit & Veggie - $12,

Regular Fruit & Veggie - $17,

Fruit Bag - $15

To order or for more information email Barbara or call her at 665-1224.

Self Defense Classes:

The Avenue Community Centre is planning to offer self-defense classes as part of our 2010 winter programming. Participants will learn self defense tactics and self preservation behaviour in a healthy, safe, fun, and educational environment.

Learn to:

- Identify potential assailants

- Escape an attack unharmed

- Defend yourself or others

- Gain confidence and assertiveness

If you are interested in participating in this class and want info about this program as it develops please email Garnet or call him at 665-1224.
